“Pitch Perfect” is a triumph of producers and casting directors. The vomitous humor, both literal and figurative, was enough to initiate a gag-reflex in your body while watching the film, Pitch Perfect. However, the harmonization and melodies of the singing groups featured in the movie made it worth the physical discomfort. At the free screening, one of the movie reviewers commented anonymously to her partner in the line forming to leave the theater, "You couldn't pay me to watch that, again."Sadly, the best scene of the entire film comes at the end. It's where Beca, the eventual lead singer of the all female acapella group, takes control of the ensemble to win the national competition.
On one level it's true Beca incorporates the theme to The Breakfast Club because she was also trying to win over her boyfriend. However, if one has ears to hear, the entire medley is a commentary on the state of the world, and future return of the Messiah. The medley consists of the song titles: Price Tag/Don't You (Forget About Me)/Give Me Everything/Just the Way You Are/Party in the U.S.A./Turn the Beat Around."The medley begins with a rap song talking about money and bling and the fact that the Truth comes second. Next, it glides smoothly into Don't You (Forget About Me), which can remind the viewer that although the world is chasing after money, they should not forget about God.As the medley progress to the climax, the finale of the film and the show ends with a call of repentance for the viewer to Turn the Beat Around. Ultimately, this film is a reflection of the world as we all travel through it from birth to death.
